May Shopping Trip

I am so excited for May!  Surprisingly, considering I will be exiting my 20's.  For some reason that doesn't seem to bother me too much right now.  I think I am really excited to try some great recipes and to take the big plunge to eliminate refined flours, sugars, and grains.  I am by no means 100% whole food yet, but our goal is to eliminate as much as possible and this is the month.  I can't wait to share some of the great recipes for snacks, treats, and of course meals.

With that said I REALLY went over budget, but I am ok with that.  To me health is way more important than any budget.  I am also realizing that $75 per week may be a little unrealistic.  Although if I stayed with my goal from last year I could obtain it.  So after some soul searching and cutting other bills I decided to up my grocery budget to $100 per week (just like last year).  The way I look at it is my families health is more important than making sure I can watch a certain series on a premium channel or to text unlimited.  So with some minor adjustments and finding a discount savings program we qualified for on our auto insurance I easily was able to adjust my grocery budget.

I went to both Hen House and Hy-Vee today.  Mainly because I had to pick my daughter up and was unable to finish at Hen House, but it worked out good doing it this way too :)
